“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:18-19
In this passage God is telling Israel and us today, we shouldn’t live in the past as though the only deliverance He could produce was from Egypt (our old sinful lives), but He’s letting us know; He’s not like the idols we use to worship and dedicate our lives to daily who couldn’t save or deliver us. He’s not locked into doing the same thing over and over again. But He wants us know that He will deliver in new ways.
The Lord has called and delivered us by the precious blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He has empowered us to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. And even though this world is growing darker, colder, and wickedness abounds, the Lord wants us to know that we’re more than able to Rise Up and be open to the new things He’s doing.
May you open up your hearts and minds today and through-out this New Year and allow God to move in and through your lives like never before…
