“IF”
“if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 NIV
Yesterday our church, Victory Outreach Albuquerque participated in 24/7transformational prayer as we partnered with New Mexico Prays. The mission of newmexicoprays.org is simply to cover our state in prayer and to pray for revival and transformation in our state.
As I was praying last night for this m 11-11:30pm God began to bring specific people to my heart. I began to lift up these people and pray that God would turn their life around. I began to pray that God would bring a harvest of souls to the state of New Mexico.
The scripture I used to open this devotion is a promise from God. The only thing keeping us from that promise is the word “IF.” The Bible doesn’t say when, but it says if. That tells me it’s a choice. We don’t have to humble ourselves, we don’t have to pray, and we have to seek his face because it’s a choice. But we can’t expect the results we want if you don’t follow gods Formula.
In math there is something the kids are taught called PEMDAS. This is a abbreviation for the order you have to do a math problem. (Parenthesis, exponents, multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction.) If your do one step wrong you miss the entire problem. When God gives us this promise in his word to hear from heaven, forgive our sin, and heal our land it all starts with the formula he gave us. Humble yourself, pray, and seek my face.
Today my challenge is simply to humble ourselves, pray, and seek his face. Take some time today to seek him. We can say we want revival, we can say we want to see our church full, and we can say we want God’s power to be on display in our church but if we don’t pray it’s not gonna happen.
Turn your “IF” into and “I will” today and seek what God wants to do in our church and throughout the state of New Mexico.
