Our Year
“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you.” Philippians 3:13-15 NIV
Forgetting those things which are behind us as we press into 2017. Let as many of us that are mature keep this in mind. We’re claiming 2017 as the year of favor and expectation.
Breaking down 2017
2- Two are better then one, we can’t do it alone. It also stands for second, like a second chance. Its an opportunity to make things right.
0- Stands for zero tolerance. The Bible says “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:1-2 NIV
We need to stay focused.
1- It takes one spark to start a fire. Let’s personalize our salvation. It only takes one person to catch the vision.
7- This number stands for completion and perfection. it also stands for God’s foundation in the creation Gen. 2:2. It also stands for the year of jubilee in Leviticus 25:1-12, let’s mature and go deeper into our commitment of faithfulness and loyalty to Jesus this year.
