Pour Out
“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.” Matthew 6:6-7 NIV
As I was reflecting on a message given by our Founder, Pastor Sonny I begin to think how we can make prayer complicated. Many times we forget the simplicity and the necessity of talking to our father. Matthew chapter 6 Jesus give us instructions on how to pray. Many times we can just become religious in our prayers not really focused and just be babbling on. But God wants to know us he wants to know our hearts he doesn’t just want lip-service according to Isaiah 29:13 The Lord says: “These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is based on merely human rules they have been taught.
He desires us to be close at heart to love Him, to know Him, and to seek Him. To be genuine. We need to simply “pour our hearts out to him”.
Pastor Sonny said “Christian maturity is an increasing awareness of our need for God”.
This year if we want to grow deeper we must pray. If we want spiritual maturity we must pray. If we want to know God we must pray.
We can’t depend on what we know what we’ve learned in life but we must depend on Him and Him alone.
