Testimony
A testimony is defined as evidence or proof provided by the existence or appearance of something. So when we give our testimony to people we are showing them the proof that our God is real.
“I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”
(Philippians 4:11-13 NIV)
In this passage Paul is giving his testimony. He is telling the people what he has been through. He was letting the people know that even though he had been though some stuff, he was able to make it through.
The Bible says “They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.”
(Revelation 12:11 NIV)
The Bible also says “Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God, (2 Timothy 1:8)
There is power in our testimonies. The Bible says we overcome by the word of our testimony. Our testimony is a tool that God has given us to help others with what there going through or to bring them to salvation. If God has saved you then you can use your testimony to reach others.
Today my challenge is to share your testimony with someone. It doesn’t have to just be how you got saved but it can also how God has kept you. I love to tell people about what God is doing in my life right now not just what he has done in the past.
