Unity

“Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.”
‭‭(Matthew‬ ‭18:19 NIV)

The greatest tool a church can have is unity. Unity simply means- the state of many acting as one. Imagine how much the church could do for God if everyone was moving as one. In the scripture I started with it says “if two of you agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my father in Heaven”. There is supernatural power when we’re in unity.

In the book of Genesis Adam was told to tend the garden and name the animals. God looked around and found no animal that was suitable for a helper. So he created Eve to help him to complete the parts of him that needed help. Adam and Eve walked and worked in unity and were fulfilling there purpose that God had given them. And then Satan shows up. I heard a quote the other day that said “the enemy attacks at the point of unity”.

Satan didn’t show up on the scene until Eve was there. Until Eve showed up and they started working in unity, that is when Satan was threatened. The Bible says when two of you agree on anything it shall be done. Satan was threatened by the power of unity they now possessed.

In this Christian walk we need people to be united with us. Whether it’s our spouse, our leaders, co-laborers, or just our friends. When we work together and move as one then that is where there is power. We need to work more in unity. If you have problems with someone then work on it, don’t let it create division.

Another quote I heard is “If Satan can divide us then he can defeat us.” When Satan spoke to Eve he did it while Eve wasn’t with Adam. If Satan would have spoke to Eve while Adam was there, they would of stayed in unity. Satan had to divide them before he was able to trick them. When we have division in the church is brings defeat. When people are mad at others for whatever reason, it creates division. We began to stop moving as one, but we lose that power of unity.

Today my challenge is if you have problems with someone then pray and work on it. Don’t let division cease the work of the Lord. There is power in unity. Let’s move as one for the same purpose as we continue to reach Albuquerque for Jesus.
