You are the Treasure I seek
“If you seek [Wisdom] as for silver and search for skillful and Godly Wisdom as for hidden treasures.” Proverbs 2:4
Seeking God and his wisdom is like searching for hidden treasures, you have to be persistent and willing to wait on God for answers. We can’t expect instant results on something as priceless as wisdom. We don’t get a do over on choices made without wisdom being sought first.
To have wisdom is to have good sense, understanding or making right decisions
The scripture encourages us to seek Godly wisdom as if it was a hidden treasure, which would take time, energy and effort. In our day and age everyone wants and expects instant results in everything we do and say, but if we would seek God’s wisdom and direction there would be less casualties.
Casualties in the sense of reaping the results of a decision made in the heat of the moment or lack of praying it through or seeing wisdom on it. The world we live in today does and says whatever makes them feel good, but we are not like the world, we have been given the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us if we would only ask.
“If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him.” James 1:5
In 2017 we will be making a lot of choices we will be making many decisions, may we be reminded today that we can and should seek God for his wisdom and direction.
He loves us and he desires to speak into our lives, but we must value wisdom as a treasure that is priceless because it is.
Wisdom has saved me from many mistakes, choices and dangers; I pray that you too would discover this hidden treasure.
